I was born on December 21, 1909, in Frendah, near Oran in Algeria, and later made my life in Paris, where I passed away in December 2001. I adopted the name Stoëbel as my artistic identity. From a young age, I was drawn to both music and the visual arts—two disciplines that remained deeply intertwined throughout my life, giving my work its distinctive musical and rhythmic quality.
